Industry know-how
To be honest, you won't see as many transactions as a REALTOR® does. An average family buys/sells Real Estate every 5 to 10 years. This is because when you buy a house, you're looking to create a home. You want your family to grow in it and you're only going to look to move from it if your family has outgrown it due to a baby on the way or kids growing up (upsizing) or the house has become too big due to the kids leaving for university or buying their own property (downsizing). This means that you probably don’t have a lot of experience with the ins and outs of real estate. On the flip side of things, REALTORS® have the experience and education to get things done within the industry. They handle contracts and the real estate process on a daily basis which means they can ensure that you are well protected.
Negotiation skills
Maybe you are a great negotiator because you do it for work, or have taken courses in it, or maybe you're just a great sweet talker. Lets face it though, not all of us are and if you're not then you will want to find the best REALTOR® to negotiate for you. As when it comes to buying or selling, you will want the highest price possible when selling and the lowest price possible when buying a house. If a REALTOR® is representing the other side and they are great at negotiating you will want someone on your side to ensure they are negotiating the best price possible!
Confusing paperwork? Handled.
This is probably one of the most hated aspects of Real Estate for a lot of people. The amount of paperwork you receive! So instead of trying to navigate through all that paperwork yourself and trusting the internet for any term in the contracts that you don't understand. Trust a REALTOR® to give you the right advice through it all, we understand the contracts and have seen them before. We will know what terms to write in to best protect you and we will handle them, providing them to the people you choose to facilitate your transaction. We turn this often-difficult process into an easier one.
Neighborhood authority
Whether you're moving community or into a different city. You don't want to be spending hours researching what each place has to offer, ask the REALTOR® that has extensive knowledge on the neighborhoods you are interested in. This way they can tell you where the closest amenities are such as groceries, schools, banks, etc. You will also want to know the market values of the areas. As this now takes us back into negotiations, knowing the market value of a property and understanding what the solds are for the community will help you get the best price possible for the property that you're interested in. So when it comes to the offering process, you provide them with the facts on the area and why you're going to get it for a certain price.
Working for you
Some people don't have the best understanding of this but REALTORS® do actually have your best interest in mind. They will go through any part of the real estate process and ensure that you are protected and looked after in the best way possible. Which can truly be a breath of fresh air during such a difficult time because we all know... Real Estate is one of the biggest investments we will make in our lifetime.
